What Trueline records

Actions on cars, with a name and a time.

From those actions Trueline works out how long each car spent at each stage, who held it and what that time cost. Nobody is asked to explain a delay; the record already shows it.

Recorded, with who and when

  • Starting and finishing a job on a car
  • Sending a car to the shop, approving an estimate
  • Moving a car between the store’s sites, or parking a new car on the lot map
  • Taking photos, handing over plates, delivering a car

Never recorded

  • Location, beyond which of the store’s sites a car is at
  • Keystrokes or screens
  • E-mail, calls or messages
  • Anything outside working in Trueline

In writing

Every employee can open a page called “What Trueline records”, written for their own role. For Ontario stores with a written electronic-monitoring policy, Trueline supplies wording that says exactly what it records, for the store and its counsel to adopt.
